Video

Thank You Sue

Produced for: The Sue Duncan Children’s Center

  • Original video was screened at the 2006 IFP Market film festival in New York City and aired on Current TV’s national cable channel
  • This sequel was produced when the center needed an updated and shorter video on their website to introduce visitors to their organization. We shot on location for a few hours on two separate days, edited the video then posted it on YouTube, Vimeo and the center’s website. It was also screened at the non-profit’s largest fundraising event of the year.

Fete Select TV

Produced for: Fete

  • Featured on NBC Chicago’s website and Fete’s website
  • D.C. Crenshaw, the founder of Fete and member of the NBC Chicago Street Team, had an idea to give locals a backstage pass into some of Chicago’s newest restaurants. We interviewed chefs at places like Sunda, C-House and The Drawing Room while getting a taste of their menus in a series of short web videos.

The Original Slam

Produced for: Split Pillow

  • Aired on Chicago’s WTTW-11, screened at Chicago Filmmakers and was distributed on DVD
  • Project featured at Time Out Chicago
  • We received a grant from Chicago filmmaking non-profit Split Pillow to produce a short documentary for its Chicago 360 series. The year’s theme was Chicago subcultures, so we decided to profile the longstanding slam poetry scene at the Green Mill.

Better Together: Zarah and Robert’s Wedding

Produced for Zarah and Robert

  • This couple wanted Tellit’s Full Wedding Package to not only record their wedding day, but also tell a story about their relationship. The result is this 23 minute documentary that tells how friends and family from across the globe traveled to a small town in West Texas to watch this culturally diverse couple tie the knot.

The Chicago Newsroom

Produced for the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University

  • Medill needed a video to show prospective students what it is like working in its real newsroom in downtown Chicago. The video was screened at the most important admissions event of the year, Open House, and appeared on the Medill website.

The Reasoning Mind Story

Produced for Reasoning Mind

  • This Houston-based non-profit wanted a video to showcase at one of its largest fundraising events of the year. After several days of shooting in Houston, we created a short documentary on DVD. With the video, Reasoning Mind was able to convince a donor to give more to the organization.
  • A few years later, Reasoning Mind asked us to produce a sequel to the first movie, which was distributed on DVD and posted online. The sequel (above) gave donors and teachers a better look into what its math education computer program can do for kids.
